Starting Out
To begin comparing items using the Aion item comparison tool, click on either the "Add Item" button or the "Add Item Set" button.  This will display a new panel that will allow you to search for either individual items or item sets. |
Adding Items and Items Sets
Search for your desired item or item set by typing name keywords (like sword, steel, gloves, and so on) in the search box at the top of the panel. You can choose to select one item or item set at a time by clicking on its name. This will automatically close the window and add the item or set to the item comparison table. You can also select more than one item or set at a time to add by clicking on the checkboxes beside their names. To select all the items on a specific page or deselect all selected items, click on either Select: All or None. Once you're done, click on the "Add Items" button at the bottom of the panel (this will appear whenever you have multiple items selected) to add your selection to the table. If you feel like adding more items to your existing comparison, click on the "Add Item" or "Add Item Set" button at the top right portion of the comparison table. |

Grouping and Ungrouping Items
| You can group items together by clicking and dragging an item's icon into another column. This will display the first item as part of a group with the second item. To remove an item from a group, drag the item's icon out of the group's column and drop it on the empty space to the right of the columns. Removing Items |
Focusing on Items
Clicking on the eye icon at the top portion of an item or group column will make the item comparison tool "focus" on that particular column. The column in focus will have its stats displayed in white, while the others will be displayed in either green, positive numbers, meaning that the item has higher stats than the item in focus or red, negative numbers, indicating that the item has lower stats than the item in focus. |

Determining an Item's Overall Stat Gains
| The gains row at the bottom of the item comparison table displays the stat "gains" of each item compared to the item with the lowest stats. For example, in a comparison of three items with 143, 59, and 20 Max Attack, the Max Attack gains for the first and second item will appear as 123 and 39, while the third item's gain will be left blank since it has the lowest Max Attack. |
Saving Your Comparisons
Clicking on the "Save" button at the top right of the item comparison tool's page will save your current comparison so that you can go back to it later. After you save a comparison, the button will change to "Autosave", and any changes you make to your comparison will be saved automatically. You can disable the Autosave function by clicking on the "Autosave" button.
Note: This functionality is cookie-based, so clearing browser cache will cause you to lose your saved comparison.
Linking to Your Comparisons
Clicking on the "Link to this comparison" button will generate a link to your current comparison that you can share with your friends.
Adding Items or Item Sets from the Item Database
If you find items or item sets that you'd like to compare while browsing the Aion item database list, you can easily do so by selecting them by clicking on the check boxes beside their names and clicking on the "Compare" button at the top of the list. The "Deselect" button allows you to deselect all of your current selections. Once you click the "Compare" button, a pop-up window containing the following options will appear:

Adding Item Sets from the Item Set Details page
| You can also add an item set to the comparison tool while viewing an Aion item set details page. Click on "View Set Items Individually in Item Comparison" to compare the individual items in that set, or "View Grouped Set in Item Comparison" to compare the whole set to other items. Clicking on either of the links will take you to the item comparison page. |
