To use the YG Aion Updater and submit NPC and drop data to the database, all you have to do is run the application before selecting your server.
IMPORTANT: When the Updater is in sync with your current server, a message saying "Connected to Server ID:" should appear in the Console section of the Updater. If you do not see this message while at the character select screen, that means that the Updater did not sync successfully, and you will have to re-sync. To attempt a re-sync, click the 'Select Server' button on the character select screen and reselect the server you were on. If the re-sync is successful, the "Connected to Server ID:" message should appear.
The YG Aion Updater window has four main sections:

- Download the zip file and extract its contents onto your hard drive.
- Install the latest WinPcap version (learn more about it at WinPcap.org)
- This is Updater's network foundation, and is required for it to run.
- A reboot may be required on some machines after installing WinPcap.
- Once installed, you can run the YG Aion Updater application while playing Aion whenever you like.
How the Updater Works
The YG Aion Updater gathers different game statistics (e.g. item drop statistics and NPC locations), and periodically uploads that data to our server. The server will then process them in batches, and the processed data is added to our live pages within 2-8 minutes.

The YG Aion Updater window has four main sections:
| Track Your Stats Upon loading the Updater, the first thing you should do is to save your YG Members account name in the text field found in this section. This will allow us to track what kind of data and how much data you've uploaded to the database. Your YG Members account password is not required to track your stats. To clear your YG Member name and disable stat tracking, click on the "Save" button while the text box is empty.  | Inventory/Warehouse This section allows you to submit information about your inventory/warehouse so you can use our Warehouse Manager tool. There are three checkboxes there - the first two are for your current character's inventory and warehouse, and third is for your Account Warehouse. These checkboxes indicate whether or not your inventory/warehouse data has loaded; they are unchecked by default, but will automatically be checked when the Updater sees the inventory/warehouses loaded. Your character inventory loads when you zone in, and warehouses load when you access them in-game for the first time. To submit the loaded information to the Warehouse Manager, click the "Submit Inventory" button and type your YG Members password when prompted. You can only submit your inventory/warehouse information if at least one of the boxes is checked.  |
| Session Statistics In this section, there is a list of the different kinds of data that the Updater gathers. Beside the types of data are text boxes that display how much of those kinds of data have been gathered during that particular session. These statistics will be reset to zero when you exit the Updater.  | Console This section displays a real-time list of the data you gather. You can clear the contents of the Console section by clicking the Clear Console button at the bottom-right of the window.  |

If a newer version of the Updater is available, the Updater will detect it upon launch and download the newest version automatically.

Security / Privacy
The YG Aion Updater has only one function: to gather helpful game-related information for the Aion Community. It does not interact with nor alter the Aion client in any way, so running the updater does not put your account at risk. We do not gather any information about you or you account, nor do we have any key logging or malicious code in our application.

The more information we receive about any bugs that you encounter, the quicker we will be able to squash them. That said, please report any problems you have with the YG Aion Updater, and make sure to include the following information:

- Your computer's operating system (OS) and how much Memory it has
- What you were doing in game when the problem occurred
- If you can reproduce the bug (i.e. intentionally make it happen again), include instructions on how to do so.
